By Basic is a ready to wear brand, which provides a made to order service based on a complete ethical approach. Sustainability is its core value and that influences all the other values. 

Indeed, the brand believes in passion, ethical mindset, craftsmanship and design. 

When it comes to its working process, the brand controls the entire process and makes sure to take proper care of its employees, the environment, and the quality of the output.


Value Chain

Its raw materials collection is mostly concentrated in Denmark, as well as the logistics. On the other hand packaging and production are mostly based in Poland. 

All the By Basics products are Oeko-Tex certified. Its merino wool is 100% Oeko-Tex certified, has the smoothest finish and is of the highest quality. The wool comes from New Zealand and Australian merino sheep who has received the best treatment. Its merino wool is mulesing free, because the brand cares that animals are treated properly. 

All merino wool remnants are reused by a cooperation partner.


Company Sustainability

The brand organizes meetings, webinars and workshops to raise awareness among its employees in terms of gender equality and sustainability. 

Moreover, the brand has renewable energy installed in its company.


Customer Care

The brand provides consumers with kit to protect their garments for free and general and washing instructions.

3 What do you believe in?
We believe in reducing waste as much as possible. For instance, we cut our wool by hand, reusing patterns repeatedly. The cut-offs are either used for smaller styles, children's styles or unravelled at a nearby factory and reused. We do not want anything to go to waste.
4 What about your value chain?
We own our production facility in Poland and have a long-lasting partnership with our production facility in Portugal. Employees are treated with respect, fair and competitive salary, healthcare, and no piecework salary.
